Fr. John’s final Sunday service before retirement will be on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at 10:00 AM (one service only).
Please join us as we celebrate his retirement and give thanks for his years of faithful service at this special final Mass.
Rooted in the past, reaching for the future
Church technology has become integral to our church ministry. We have offered our YouTube channel since the pandemic back in 2020. We offer virtual service options to those who cannot get to church and for those who want to have access to services for later viewing and listening. More than ever before, we will continue to use church technology to tell the story and message of Jesus Christ.
Our Technology Acolyte, Mackenzie Strobel will be leaving us for college in the fall. Mackenzie has been so faithful to running our LiveStream each week. We thank her for her work! She’s trained a few people but we think it’s time to train a few more. This is a much needed ministry in our Parish!
If you’d like to sit with Mackenzie some Sunday and learn, both young and not so young are invited. Please let Father John or Mackenzie know! We can put together a schedule if we get a few people to make it easy!
Last Sunday, we thanked our Church School teachers, Patty Wood and Leah Langshaw, for their faithful work in helping educate our children in the traditions of our faith through prayer, Bible lessons, and fun activities. As Church School begins its summer hiatus, a few of our students presented both teachers with pots of summer flowers in appreciation for their dedication and care.
Church School will return in September, and we encourage parents and grandparents to enroll their children and grandchildren in this important ministry of Christian formation.
Last evening, approximately 60 people gathered at our church for Fr. John’ s final Faith and Recovery service—a ministry that has become a lifeline for many in our community.
The evening was filled with heartfelt testimony. Participants spoke movingly about the impact this ministry has had on their recovery, the encouragement and compassion they found in Fr. John, and the uniqueness of a service that blends the 12-step program with Christian worship—bringing together faith, honesty, and hope in a powerful way. Many shared how welcomed they felt in the church—some for the first time in years.
Others reflected on the relationships built beyond the service itself: helping with the Garden Market, assisting with church projects, and finding purpose in giving back. These shared experiences have helped transform a place once known simply as a meeting space into a true community.
As he reflects on this ministry, Fr. John wishes to express his deep gratitude to all who have helped build and sustain it—especially Bob and Trish Jones of Dexter House, Carol and Bill Weisel, Linda Gibeck and the dedicated meal teams, the Rev. Jim Kamihachi, Altar Guild members, musicians Paul and Sue Keller, and Zach Bib from Firm Foundation. Their faithful support has made this ministry flourish.
As Fr. John prepares to step away, the message from the evening was clear: this ministry matters. Those who gathered expressed a heartfelt hope—and a shared plea—that this Faith and Recovery service will continue. Its witness of welcome, healing, and the hope of Christ in recovery has touched many lives, and its presence remains deeply needed.
